Paper published in the Vision Research special issue on Computational Models of Visual Attention
Calden Wloka, Nick Frosst, and John Tsotsos published a paper in collaboration with Neil Bruce and Shafin Rahman, “On computational modeling of visual saliency: Examining what’s right and what’s left.” They review prior work on computational modeling of visual saliency, demonstrate problems with prevailing evaluation methods, present an alternative focus for evaluation grounded in visual psychophysics, and identify promising avenues for future research in saliency modeling.
